ACADEMICS
THE FIRST TWO YEARS
The first two years will be devoted mainly to the knowledge and use of materials, techniques and traditional tools used in graphic and pictorial production, the appropriate use of essential technical terms and above all to the understanding and application of the principles governing the construction of form through design and color.The students will face the founding principles of design both as a language and as a tool; it is not just a technical act, but mainly a form of knowledge of reality, of the things that make up the world and their mutual relations. The student will also acquire the appropriate methodologies to be able to organize time and the work space adequately and be aware that drawing and painting are languages that require technical and mental exercise.
At the end of the two year path, the student will be asked to choose between four different three year courses, all revolving around different topics.They are the following: Architecture, Figurative Drawing, Graphics and Multimedia.
ARCHITECTURE
We will expand the knowledge of technical drawing moving towards the study of architectural and environmental contexts representation. In the approach to the architectural design process it is appropriate that the student takes into consideration the need to combine the aesthetic and conceptual needs with those structural, functional principles of the distribution.The student will analyze existing architectural works or conceive new ideas on assigned themes, through drawings and representations with help of the two-dimensional drawing and three-dimensional CAD; It is therefore essential to continue and expand the study of projective principles, acquire knowledge of perspective projections and the theory of shadows.Using photographic reproduction media, mapping and graphics and three-dimensional models it is necessary that the students acquire the ability to analyze and rework both ancient architecture, modern and contemporary, observing the interactions between stylistic attributes, technology, users and the relationships with the architectural context.
FIGURATIVE DRAWING
We will dive into the preparation of the pictorial form by identifying the concept, expressive and communicative elements, the function, all through the analysis and management of space, painting material, color and light. It is appropriate that the student takes into consideration the need to combine the aesthetic and conceptual requirements with the principles of chemistry (properties, reaction and durability of the materials used: pigments, carriers, resins, glues, etc.). It will lead the student to the realization of paintings designed on the assigned theme and material: on paper, on canvas or on wood; tempera, acrylic, oil, etc; easel, mural (fresco, mosaic, etc.) or for installation.Some lessons about the types of graphic and pictorial elaboration of narrative such as cartoons and illustrations are also included; it is therefore essential to continue and deepen the study of design, identifying the technical aspects and methods of presentation that are most appropriate according to the project.

We will expand the knowledge and use of techniques and technologies, tools, materials, traditional and contemporary instruments; we will develop the process of graphic-visual production - by identifying the concept, communication, aesthetics, function - through the analysis and management of visual space, geometric pattern, color, typefaces, forms, textures, etc.

The student will analyze and apply a design methodology aimed at the realization of graphic products designed to an assigned theme: paper, digital, web, signage or packaging; it is therefore essential to continue the study of computer techniques, photographic and graphic, in particular geometric and descriptive processes throughout the project, identifying materials, tools, computer applications, multimedia means and methods of presentation more adequate to the project .
MULTIMEDIA
We will delve into the procedures relating to the preparation of an audiovisual product - by identifying the concept, expressive and communicative elements, the function - through the frame management (fields and floors, camera angles), time, movement, color and light.The student will analyze and apply the procedures necessary to the realization of audiovisual works created on assigned themes: photography, movies, film animation or computer, etc; It is therefore essential to continue the study of graphic techniques, geometrical and descriptive, photographic and multimedia, throughout the design process, identifying the equipment, media, materials, computer applications and general multimedia means and how to present appropriately according to the project.It is necessary that the student acquires the ability to analyze, use or reprocess visual and sound elements both ancient, modern and contemporary.
